Sharing is Caring!
So we were on the topic of shoes before and the pastor had mentioned adidas sharing shoes for players. A trend that i believe was just picked up by Nike. Not only have they almost always had players just wear the team versions of shoes with the exception of Kobe Lebron Jordan Barkley and Penny. They have moved it to the same level of adidas by taking a shoe and slightly adapting it by the players team colors.

ps. Gilbert Arenas is the only player on adidas who doesnt share a shoe.

Cheap Shot
Im glad pratts back, but a new squad? the Wiz suck without gil and i refuse to watch antawn jamison jack threes up and act like he's the best player on the team anyways! Gil isnt back til mid january and i will never give up on him...asking me to give up on gil cause he's inujred is like asking someone to give on the dragon cause he's dead!
sorry

ive been fighting the snow and unpacking and deer and antelope and jackrabbits and jackelope, and my net doesnt get hooked up till the 5th, so whenever i can get through the snow and find some net i do..............shaq is fat, never underestimate the heart of a champion go spurs go, parker is fast, nash is fast, rando might be faster, but not fast enough to win, kobe is amazing, walton had a good start, garnett was money, paul peirce still wines, ray allen made some shots, then made same bad shot choices, allen whatever his name is off the bench for the celtics shot too much, fundementals win everytime(duncan), amares mid range jumper was impressive, much improved, i can only wear boots, stop putting shit on my body david blaine you demon, come on chris paul you can do better than that, good for kern and the magic and slam dunks, sorry sam maybe you should get a new squad squad or squad or just give up on gil and the wiz and go back to larry hughes and stephon marbury, matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner matt warner

Research
I checked into it and Jordan did start the chalk. Not throwing it in the air all dramatic but he started using it first followed by this guy

The fist person to make it dramatic was still garnett though....
then lebron took it to the next level. So it was kinda bitten from jordan and miller and bitten from garnett, which is fine. I just wish ESPN wouldnt act like Lebron is the first person ever to do it. I also wish on a saturday morning when there is no college football games and no baseball that they would show a bunch of basketball highlights. Instead they showed two game highlights and 45% football 45% baseball. F that noise son!

One Last Note
First of all this has nothing to do with Lebrons Game. I don't want anyone getting hurt feelers I just have this question after seeing a commercial. Since when did throwing the chalk become Lebrons signature.

Kevin Garnett has been doing it for years. It was his signature before lebron even got in the league. His commercials were him throwing chalk and now it's lebron. What happened. I still see garnett doing it before games, but even sports center shows lebron doing it before every cavs game highlight. Lets get it straight for everyone. this is garnetts thing. Like sleeves are iversons thing

Chalk is Garnetts thing and lets not forget it!!!!

Oxymoron
Guys play their positions and they play them well. Dwight Howard doesn't do all the things you listed out, nor do I want him to. If he starts shimmying like the diesel or crossing people over in the front court he'd be a joke. And I don't know where you get off saying he isn't exciting? Have you seen him play? I don't relate to a post player either, nor did I ever think I would. But it just goes to show you what a quality individual who plays his position right can do for a little white point guard like me.
Yes the designs are for the most part weaker but.......
As far as the players go, i don't figure how you can relate to some of these players you named, and don't relate to others. David Robinson vs Dwight Howard.... Strong Christians and super athletic ripped big men. Difference, You could say Robinson had a good outside shot but he was only accurate from a short distance. Howard is working with ewing ( a much better shooting big man) to extend his game..keep in mind the guy turned 23 three days ago. That's younger than robinson was when he started. Tony Parker vs Chauncy Billups. One has a gay name the other has a gay face. They also lead their teams in scoring (until chauncy went to the nuggets) and were clutch shooters who know exactly how to get there team involved. Manu is an effective but unorthadoxed player who busts his ass every game...I see how you relate to that. Heres one major person you left out. Derrick Rose. Hes on addidas he's a quiet floor general who doesnt ever talk crap is a class act off the court and is already been called the future along with Chris Paul. If you've seen him play....you have to agree. Now players like melo who get caught with drugs in there carry ons, and Rasheed Wallace who gets caught with a pound of grass in his car, and Shawn Marion who forces the suns to trade him cause they wont pay him enough, or Amare Stoudamire who has no outside game and no D.... Those are also some of the players that Nike has on the squad. Let's not just point out the Tmacs and not point out the KG's and Derrick Roses. Yes the shoes aren't that great from a design standpoint, and sharing your shoe with other players isn't that great either, but they do have some solid basketball shoes which usually outlast the nike ones. But who cares what they're wearing anyways. Does anyone know what stephen Curry wears? No because your too busy watching him kill it on the court. case ajourned.

as far as the shoe game goes

give me a pair of white adidas rat balls with the real gum sole and ill wear em till they fall off, or all green adidas phantoms, or any solid color for that matter, or the blue and white adidas top 10 feet you wear. and lets think for a second, maybe the reason that i prefer so many athletes that support the swoosh, is because nike prefers to sponsor a particular type of athlete, that will appeal to a particular type of customer(see and1, and the stupid bullshit they put out). and all that aside nikes designs are far superior to all the other shoe companies, but thats just my opinion, and im just a designer, and shoe collector. as far as converse goes, you know their performance basketball has been weak for a long time. but still i have liked a couple pairs here and there, and i actually bout a pair of the converse weapons before nike bout converse. and now that nike owns converse arent the shoes and designs and marketing getting much much better? coincidence? my favorite centers are hakeem and david robinson. did you see the 34.99 spaldings hakeem put out, they were ugly, thanks spalding! what did nike do with david robinson? made the most supportive and technologically advanced basketball shoe, adjustable pump supprt, 180 air cushioning, not to mention platter painted midsole and modern design. its easy to like nike, or maybe they just appeal to me. im a BMW guy, i dont like mercedes, they just dont appeal to me. dont like the designs or logos or marketing as much as BMW stuff, i just dont feel it. maybe since im middle class white kid, and nike is trying to market to me, nike makes sense to me, but id like to think its because they have the most modern, original and cutting edge designs and technologies. for the most part i buy my shoes based on design first, then functionality, then endorsement.
so lets see, favorite player lebron(nike), ive never liked baron davis(and he wore nike at one time), tony parker love him(nike), smoosh parker(nike), larry hughes wears nike and i fucking hate him, jason kidd love him(nike), vince carter i hated him with and 1, with puma, and now with nike, i wont buy his shoes, ginobli love him(nike), steve nash love him(nike), dwade (since nike took over the designs are getting better, and i was actually just looking at the new one with the camo midsole last night, ill probably get a pair, cus the design is good, and the player is good), i could go on and on but lets move on to adidas. antoine walker hate(adidas), tmac hate(adidas), gil zero dont get it(adidas), dwight howard (adidas)cant relate to just a tall athletic big man, same reason i never owned a pair of shaqs(robinson and hakkem had moves and could shoot, easier to identify with)chauncy billups how did he even get a fucking shoe(adidas). garnnett love him, but you gotta admit he had some of the illest most cutting edge shoes when he was with nike, now he "shares" a shoe with 4 other guys, thanks adidas, and his and 1s were ugly too, and expensive. look, the gils are cool, its not a bad design, and the colors are cool, just not a big fan of gil, and the design isnt poerful enough to over power the fact that adidas designs are usally far inferior to nike, and i can hardly relate to their athletes.
First off as far as the game of basketball goes.
EXCITING: "basketball players". steal dribble, behind the back cross over pass, or pull up and shoot, or dunk, or finger roll, or left or right, lots of left, fundamental. 3 pointers, fade aways, no looks, bounce passes, clutch leadership, free throws, good form, carrying the team on your back, mid range jumpers, defense, guard the 1, guard the 2, guard the 3, guard the 4, block shots, pin shots, rebound rebound rebound, sprint, hustle, reliability.
NOT EXCITING: "athletes"(if i wanted this id watch the nfl, not the nba)catch dunk, catch dunk, dunk, block, rebound, dunk, jump high, block, 2 dribble dunk, dump pass, jump, dunk, tall, jump high dunk, catch dunk, rebound.
and dont get me wrong, "athletic players" can help teams, and i understand their are specialists, but it just seems to me that if you are gonna be a specialist and basketball player, why not specialize in a basketball skill. shoot, dribble, pass, ball handle. now i know players get by on just being athletic, and thats fine, and if the team they are on sucks enough they can even lead that team or play a large roll, but for me i love to watch "basketball". and it seems to me the teams that had, and have, the most "basketball" players, seem to do pretty well, plus i enjoy watching them more than the pure "athlete".
maybe its front running, maybe its bandwagon or mainstream to have a favorite player like lebron, but i feel he is the most complete player in the game today. and could be the most complete player of all time. now i know he isnt perfect at every aspect, no player is, but i feel he plays "basketball" better than anyone out there right now and is getting better every year, and expanding his game(god help the league if he dials in his jumper like MJ or Kobe). He scores, rebounds, defends, ball handles, assists, leads, carries his team, good attitude, plays 1-4, and makes the occasional circus shot or buzzer beater.
ps i love dwight howard, love his attitude, love his athleticism, love the excitment he brings with his dunks and block, love the fact that he rebounds his ass off, id just like to see his game grow more towards being a "basketball player". if you put basketball fundamentals and skills with that athleticism, then we re talking.
and gilbert is fine, ive watched him a couple times and he hasnt hooked me yet. i treat him like a song. i give him a spin, not feeling it, listen again, not feelin it, put it on hold, come back to it later. i cold be wrong, i was wrong about breaking benjamin, it was like 5 years later, and i had to see them live, but they rock. they got some good shit, good musicians, good tone, nice instruments, catching songs, cool riffs. Gill just hasnt layed down that hook that i can t get outta my head yet, but i havent forgot about him.

Stop the Hate!
So i was doing some thinking in the shower, where all my best thinking occurs, when i realized a little pattern had developed when it came to Pratt and basketball players. Shoes...... It all has to do with the shoes.... With the exception of shawn marion who is just nasty... He loves all players on Nike. Think about the players He likes not on nike.... Garnett, Duncan, and Wade. Garnett was on nike for most of career so he already earned josh's love...same with Duncan. D wade is on converse which is not only owned by nike, but also the same brand that rodman wore at the end of his career. But who did Rodman start with? NIKE! It's time to look past the shoes and start looking at the players and personalities. What this game lacked for so long was a player like barkely who would speak his mind no matter what was going on. He would say whatever he wanted even though all the announcers and critics would say just shut up and play. Well he have a player similar to him. Hibachi aka Gilbert Arenas. Now I know the argument about all stars and numbers will imediatley come up but Gil was a 3 time All Star with an average of 26ppg over those years with an insane number of clutch buzzer beaters to go with it.
Despite all of this great showman ship and skill The P refuses to give him props and now i know why. He's adidas. He's always been adidas. It doesnt matter that his shoes are sweet and if they had a nike sign P would own a pair.
He cannot seem to love a player who doesn't wear the swoosh. IT's not just gilbert that recieves the treatment. Baron and others recieve it too. All I ask is to stop the hate. Stop the hate and embrace these players. After all theres not much difference between one of your faves and one of mine!

Like a virgin
So I just got my new mac black tonight and it truly makes me feel like I am surfing the web for the first time, it's really bizarre. It's not like i've been without the internet or even a notebook for that matter. But I feel like I am back in 6th grade trying to find cool 2d animation games again. Thanks Mac, and thanks Ebay!

SEATTLE!
That trip was great and the food was delicious. We only had one crazy seattle moment happen to us the whole time. I guess this bum was following our friends to wasabi bistro. He then stood outside the door while we were waiting to be seated. Im not sure what provoked him but he started sticking is tongue out and making nasty faces so farid open the door to push him back and he fell over. Then he tried to come in and the lady working there stepped in and asked him to leave. Then he looked at me and farid with his crazy eyes and said "I'm gonna eat your child!" and proceeded to punch the glass door. It was crazy! Good thing im not having children!
