In case you guys didn't catch it on twitter, I just copped the Nike Sb Pacman Hi. Which brings me to my next point. I have found one good thing about Idaho. I was the first person to buy these here in Idaho and they were released yesterday. I bought them yesterday at 5:00pm with no line and no interest from the other 10 people in Newt and Harolds. These shoes have already sold out in major cities and are going for at least 150 on ebay already. With my $20 gift certificate I paid just $52.00 out of pocket for these. I will be buying as many shoes from here as I can before I leave, and I guess you can say, besides family, there is something I will miss here in Idaho when I leave!

i was gonna tell you, stop skating and start blogging! Wow! how crazy is it to hear this. I love skateboarding, always have. i started skating in 1984 when i was 5. by the time i was 10 i was skating with junior high and high school kids. Riding launch ramps and small half pipes. i remember when we saw josh roo do the first kickflip, and he was the only kid in town who could land one, i think that was 1987. And you are right my mom wasnt very "supportive", though she wasnt flat out discourageing. She did buy me my first pro board for my birth day when i was in 3rd grade. hot pink tommy guerro(once again, down with the brown since day one) full size, white tracker ultralites, bullet wheels, and german bearings. but she never watched me skate, or filmed us riding the ramps or anything, and we had a camcorder. the neighbor lady saw me one day and called over these other neighbors and i did a little demo for like 4 neighbors. ollies, ollie 180s, boneless, shov its, cherry pickers, flatground hand plants, finger flip bonless, various acid drops off those green things in neighborhoods, ollie truck stalls on curbs, and my specialty, big power slides with 360 outs. they were amazed. my parents never watched. maybe part of the reason i started playing organized sports, was i thought they would start to pay attention. the reason i got into art and design is all due to skatebording. i used to walk down to the corner store and buy thrasher magazine for like 2 maybe 3 bucks, and go home and redraw all the ads and pictures of skaters and board graphics. the first thing i ever wanted to be "when i grow up" was a skateboard graphic designer(the shoe thing didnt happen till 6th grade). and youre right my dad wasnt too down, though he didnt flat out deny me, he paid way more attention to the organized sports. its funny you bring this up cus im actually working on a book called skateboarding saved my life. i own skateboardingsavedmylife.com and i am gonna start making some clothing and stickers and doing some decks too. you remember i built the mini ramp in my garage 3-4 years ago, i have been skating on and off since then, and have recently been doing it more frequently with zeke. i have trying to take him to the skate park once a week. and remember i have 2 skate related tats, the vallely and the screaming hands. i just finished this deck for myself, i filmed myself making it, but i dont have the video edited yet, but heres a picture for now( i use a snow owl for my graphic, cus it freaking snowed for months here and no one could skate). ill have to get your story to put in my book. and i can get kerns too, if he want to relive how his dad called him a wanker. i remember people used to call us skaters that in the 80s.



i had this natas board in 1988, he owned everyone. dont front on the fire hydrant, and if you wanna see whats really up watch the natas bio, you can find it on youtube. and speaking about beaners you gotta get into mark gonzales. still skating still ripping. one of the first "street skaters", one of the first skaters to do his own graphics, one of the first skaters to start his own company, still owns his own company, does tons of graphics, does tons of art, true inovator, true icon, highly respected, total wierdo!

Little lost Mexican

Why did my parents let me watch basketball. It's such an exciting sport, and not to mention that when i was young magic bird jordan barkley hakeem ewing and of course Nick Van Exel were in there primes. With players like spud and muggsy rockin it, i though i could be the next little man in the league.....

My parents of course tried to make me a tennis player which I didnt want to do because theyre were of course no players I could really relate to.

If they were smart they would have encouraged me to play soccer, baseball or one other sport.

Soccer of course has many latin american heros to look up to and was also a sport you could play in school and not be looked at as a sissy like tennis.

Baseball was a real mans that anyone could enjoy, and that I wanted to play in high school but my parents wouldnt let me because it was at the same time as tennis. Of course there were many players for me to admire growing up especially former dogers pitching standout fernando valenzuela.



What they didnt know is there some amazing skaters that I could have modeled myself after, but of course no parent encourages they're kid to do that! Take jeremy for instance....Jerry called him a wanker... Im sure josh's mom didnt encourage anything, and his dad was so texas that football and b ball were the only sports he probably really encouraged. Meanwhile legends like Chino Brenes, and pepe lopez were killing the skating world while I tried to be like mike and miserabley failed! Why couldn't they just move me out to santa cruz and help me to be a professional athlete like any kid would want to be. That is a sport that you dont have to be any particular size to do. All you need is practice which i did religeously with basketball, but these little mexican chicken legs could only take me so far! If only I could have been encouraged to check out skating... I could have been the next emanuel guzman

MAGIC MAD RO'n it!

The magic just picked up brandon bass to start along side D Howard! This may not seem like a huge pick up ala RJ to san antonio or Sheed to Boston or Shaq to cleveland but let me tell you it is. Brandon Bass has been one of the top 20 most productive players per minute in the nba the last two seasons and averaged 9 pts 5rebs while shooting 50% in 19 minutes per game last season. He is a great young player who has played in the playoffs every year for dallas and avg 11 pts per game in the conf semis last season. He can knock down a 16 foot jumper and is a beast on the boards. A perfect fit to go along with D howard and the now more conventional magic. Great pick up and the magic are now looking like a team destined to make it to the conference finals. NO JOKE. I'd put money on it!!!!

well i dont know exactly what to say or what side to take i guess. its not uncontrolled swearing at fans or media, its not drug violation, its not adultery or rape, its not murder or shooting yourself for that matter. its a he said she said incident. we werent there, we dont know what was said or exactly what happened, and of course the media is gonna blow it up the 10 times what it is, they want a story. did you see them interview the kid who dunked. they kept trying to prod him to talk some trash or stir the pot and he wouldnt, and the kid even said he thought lebron didnt even think he was gonna dunk, so lebron took off late, and he said he didnt think lebron reacted at all, he didnt notice. i imagine if lebron would have made a big issue out of it the kid wouldve noticed, and others wouldve noticed and been talking about that. but all they are talking about is the fact the tapes were taken. i dont know the rules and i dont know what was said. and i dont think lebron is infallible, none of us are. barkley spit on a kid and threw a midget through a window. jordan gambled and was rumored for years to have had an affair. plus lebron is unber a bigger microscope than anyone in the league right now. i dont see him deliberately doing bad or wrong or harmful things, so i guess everyone is just looking for something else to talk about, other than all the blockbuster moves that just went down. in our age of all this technology its gonna be hard for any of these high profile guys to not get criticized and torn apart from time to time.

Can you imagine how happy we would have been if Larry Hughes would have gone to the Knicks when we were in early Highk school? haha I'm glad we are past those days. But he is the new agent zero in NY. joke joke hoke. Being that he has played for the cavs and the wiz i'm scared he is going to go to Orlando some day to complete the sweep.

Did you check Ryan Anderson's stats?? 33 pts, 11-15 FG, 2-2 3-pt, 9-9 FT Ok so it's summer league, but what i'm most excited about is the 9-9 free throws.

The Spurs are going to be very good this next year but I still don't think they have the chops to take it all. Jeffers was a huge pick up but their dudes are just gettin too old. They are all turning into Lamar Odom types, good but you never know when they'll show up.

I think one team that needs to get some run here is the Nuggets. They still have their key players from last year and are still on the uprise. Chauncey is ready to win and now they added a stud guard in Ty Lawson. I think the NBA should start cutting down nets, errr nevermind that's dumb. I'll change that. The NBA should start using chain nets.

It's gettin kinda hectic

Now that we've established that..... I have to say that article was pretty much lebron hating propaganda. I hate lebron too, but turning that handshake into a huge tirade was crazy...entertaining, but crazy! There is some truth to it, but overall just a lot of haterade to drink. Hedo is a bitch! You know your a mid level player who fit a system perfectly because of Rashard and Dwight. Hes gonna be a 15ppg player in toronto, and with jose calderon being the facilitator you just paid and average player to be a spot up shooter and kinda slasher. Should have just kept marion..he's cheaper! I like the Joe Dumars story. That just goes to show Isaih has always been shady shiest!

If you have followed the first to summer leagues you'll see James Harden is shooting 50% from the field while averaging 18ppg. Hes gonna rip it for them next year!


My top 5 for next year is.....

LA Lakers- With Ron Ron and Kobe and the real finals MVP Gasol they will own teams next year.

Boston Celtics- If they all stay healthy it will be hard to find a team that can compete with the Sheed, KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo starting lineup.

San Antonio Spurs- TD,RJ,Manu, Tony P, and they're amazing draft pick of Dejuan Blair will be the two seed in the west with the potential to upset the Lake Show. ps. if they do win it all kobe leaves the lakers in 2010

Orlando Magic- Though Im not entirely happy with the VC move he is better than Hedo and will give them a perimiter player who can create on his own without making you hold your breath as hedo did at the end of games. They need to sign a decent big man to keep this spot though.

Cleveland Cavs, Oklahoma City Sonics (thunder)- I know, they aren't even gonna be close to the same records.. But the sonics were the 5th worst team in the L last year and they are poised to be the 8th seed in the west dethroning New Orleans. That makes them a top 5 as far as improvement. The Cavs will probably finish one or two in the east, but I honestly think shaq clogs up the middle too much for lebrons game which is drive in and dish. I would much rather have him shooting jumpers and playmaking on the perimiter than driving the hoop all the time. If they sign channing frye he will help clear out the lane with his ability to shoot 18 feet jumpers, but it may be a moot point if shaq can't stay healthy.

No suprises there with the exception of the sonics, but even though I fancy them, you gotta admit they are making all of the right moves.

Im gonna give you guys my mock draft of the first ten teams based on what Ive heard is going to happen, and on team needs. Then I'll throw in your favorite teams for fun.

1. LA clippers- Blake Griffin
It's about time we get a little luck, but we'll probably screw it up somehow. Griffin is a lock for this pick though. You tube his highlights josh...hes a milato amare stoudamire.

2. Memphis Grizzlies- Trade and then Ricky Rubio
No matter what I dont think they keep this pick. Too much interest in it and they dont need a Center as much as they want a point gaurd! Rubio won't sign with them so they trade it! If not.... Hasheem Thabeet will be there pick.

3. Seattle Supersonics aka OKC Thunder- Hasheem Thabeet
If Thabeet is off the board they'll go Harden or trade down and get Steph Curry. They already got westbrook and he's expressed he doesnt want to play shooting gaurd so rubio isnt gonna happen despite what all the experts say.

I think they should pick james Harden, but word on the street is they are going to try to trade for a vetran shooting gaurd, so Hill is the best player available in there need at power forwad.

Monta Ellis doesnt want them to draft a PG so theyll go with a pg sg combo player who is gonna fit in great with nellie ball!

The knicks really need a point guard. They might go with derozan to be there star of the future, but since they are waiting to see if they can get lebron, Holiday is a good point gaurd who can play d for them.

Obvios choice since they are losing marion and bosh within the next two years.

Hes not expected to drop this far...but personally i think he'll be a bust. Hes a tall point gaurd, but more of a two who cant shoot and doesnt have good court vision.

No the lakers do not repeat..... There are a few reasons why.... Gasol is the only post player people have to worry about on the team.... Bynum is super overrated and if the lakers keep odom theres now way he is as consistent as he was in the playoffs this year again. Its like when he tore it up with the heat, then sucked for the lakers the next year...Not to mention he was in a contract year. He is as bad as vince carter in my opinion. Also, they will probably break the bank to keep odom and ariza, which will leave them with fisher as starting point. He made some big shots but hes getting old and he wont help next year. They need another PG. Another reason is unfortunately the Cavs. They are so desperate to keep lebron they'll end up with either shaq, bosh via trade, marion (who even though hes nasty would be a good fit for that team) or Booze! They are not going to lose again and let him go to New york. Danny is a ferry but not so gay that he will let Lebron walk away. The celtics are a factor just cause KG said they're winning it next year...and if he says so then i kinda believe him. Last but not least the Jail....excuse me now trailblazers and other young west conference teams. Lakers are gonna get worn down in the regular season. I know this sounds crazy but look for the Thunder to make a push toward the playoffs this year. Probably not gonna make it...but win enough games to be a team you need to watch out for ala the gstate warriors of 06!
